A couple of weeks ago, at the end of our floodcation, Nancy, my friend and colleague, posted on Facebook that she and her husband were heading out to a nearby bar with a pocketful of quarters and an intent to play pool until they were tired. Nine more of us showed up (hail, Facebook!) and it was a refreshing reminder of how good it is to be somewhere different with good, smart, funny people. And eat bar food, and play darts, and pool, and the jukebox.

Great idea, Nance.
