I'll show YOU pretty

I realized with my last post that I've been posting an awful lot of adorable pictures. Truth is, V's not always adorable. So in the interest of full disclosure, here she is, ready for a stroller ride around our neighborhood, looking a little owly.

Easter fun with the Johnson Girls

Will and V got all dressed up for Easter last week and poked at each other. Then they changed their clothes and we went to eat at Nine Dragons: I think V was there when she was a few weeks old, but it was certainly Will's first time at our favorite Chinese restaurant. Auntie Jess pulled out the bunny ears, and a good time was had by all.

How weird that a year ago at this time, we were planning Jess and Brad's wedding and I was trying to figure out how to fit into my non-maternity pants for just one more week....

Reading with Grandma Mary

This picture makes me laugh, especially when compared with the first picture I posted here. V is no longer a passive viewer of books: she likes to whack the heck out of them. The blur in the middle is her right hand, smacking the pages as G'ma Mary reads them. I hope her book anger doesn't translate into poor school performance later in life: for now, though, it makes me giggle.

Best. Picture. Ever.

On the way home from lunch with some MSUM colleagues; Auntie Jess gave V this bonnet. Poor sad baby! Even Frog, her favorite toy, couldn't cheer her up.

Family time

We spent last weekend at Shaun's parents house, which is always so fun. They live on a lake (which is still frozen, of course) but also have a HOT TUB, which I should take pictures of, since we love it so much. Anyway, here is V with her Grandma Mary, and here with Grandpa David.

This week spring has started, finally, and we took V out on a walk for the first time. We just strolled down our street and back up again, and she started fussing at the end, but overall it was really fun. She's wearing her spring coat from Grandma Mary and her beautiful knit hat from Mary Ellen. Daddy's wearing a grungy hat from the Baseball Hall of Fame that my mom got for him. Well, she actually made my Uncle Rick and Aunt Bev pick it out, because what does she care about the baseball hall of fame? I don't know when this blog became a fashion show....I suppose it's only natural, since we are so fashion minded in this family.

Pictures for my demanding masses

V loves to stick out her tongue. I think she looks a little like Dom DeLouise in that picture.

Myra took this picture of the two of us together. V's wearing a onesie from her great-aunt Joy, from Blue Nile Clothing, and it's organic cotton and I love it. I'm wearing a fancy bell-sleeved shirt I got at Lane Bryant 9 years ago. When I go to the bathroom I have to be very careful with those bell sleeves.

Here is her first "real food" feeding. She looks sorta scared, but really she's just got a mouth full of rice cereal. Then again, Daddy's feeding her, and maybe she's thinking about spitting cereal in his beard.

More pictures to come. Ask and ye shall recieve....which reminds me, why is everyone so surprised about the new Judas gospel? I mean, yeah, okay, a new gospel is big news, but I never understood why everyone was so anti-Judas. How else was Jesus going to wash away our sins, if he kept on living? Someone had to give him up to save the whole wide world. Or whatever.
